Dandruff
Dandruff is the excessive shedding of dead skin cells from the
scalp. Dandruff can also be caused by frequent exposure to
extreme heat and cold.

Diagnosis
·
When there are obvious skin lesions, cultures, potassium
hydroxide preparations, or biopsies will usually establish the
diagnosis. A skull x-ray should be done to exclude fracture,
rickets, syphilitic periostitis, and primary and secondary
tumors of the cranium.
Remedies
·
A fenugreek
seed is one of the most important remedies for dandruff. Two
or three tablespoons of fenugreek seeds should be soaked
overnight in water and pasted in the morning. This paste
should be applied all over the scalp and left for half an
hour.

Dandruff can
be removed by massaging the hair for half an hour with curd
which has been kept in the open for three days.
·
A few drops
of lime juice mixed with gooseberry juice everyday, will
remove dandruff within a week.
·
Pasted neem
leaves can be applied in affected area.
·
Paste
Mehandi leaves and add curd and tea powder water. It is a best
treatment for dandruff.
·
Special
antidandruff shampoos are usually helpful.
